In the state of Illinois, the minimum requirements to work in Illinois dispensaries are: 

1. Be 21 or older
2. Pass a federal and state criminal background check
3. Complete Illinois Responsible Vendor Training

Meeting these requirements are the first steps for a career in the cannabis industry. Additionally, you’ll want to hone your skills through training, personal development, and networking. 

While not necessary to have a career in the cannabis industry, these skills will help you get further faster in your career.
